Ella Wemple Dodds, 414 E. Pike St., died Wednesday in her home at the age of 99. She attended Temple Grove School at Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and received special musical training at Darlington Seminary in Westchester, Pa. Mrs. Dodds was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Crawfordsville and has been active in civic affairs. She was also a member of the Athenian Club and for many years was active in the affairs of the Indiana State Symphony Society. Born Dec. 28, 1876, she was the daughter of William and Mary Elizabeth Wemple. She was married to Dr. Samuel Dodds Feb. 8, 1900, at Schenectady, N.Y. Dr. Dodds was superintendent of the Northern Indiana State Hospital at Logansport where he died in 1928. Mrs. Dodds subsequently resided at Indianapolis and had lived in Crawfordsville since 1934. Survivors are two sons, Dr. Wemple Dodds of Crawfordsville and Ford S. Dodds of Escondido, Calif.; and a daughter, Mrs. Verl Shaffer of New Castle. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hunt and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Anna (Ill.) Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 o’clock this evening.--waw
